CHARDHAM YATRA - (Fixed Departure)
One Expression around which all religions base their preaching. Peace of
mind, body and soul. Since time immemorial both man and God have just one
prayer - Shanti - for the living and the Departed. The Char Dham, also
called the Deo Bhumi - The Adobe of the Gods - presents just the ambience
where the Divine & the Sublime coexist.

The Holy Himalayas :
The Himalayas - the world's most majestic & loftiest mountain chain, is
the global heritage of all mankind. The sublime quality of this "Adobe of
Snows' has, since time immemorial, inspired the sages & saints of India
and has attracted tourists & pilgrims from world over to its awesome
beauty & calm serenity. Uttaranchal abounds in places of sanctity where
devotees converge every year to pay obeisance to their Gods braving
vagaries of weather & other human travails in Himalaya. Closest to the
celestial beings, devotees from all corners of the country have flocked to
these Himalayan shrines of Char Dham - Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath &
Badrinath every year to seek salvation. The arduous trails remain in the
ancient sanctuaries of faith for a fulfilling experience. The four dhams
receive holy water in the form of four streams - Yamuna (Yamunotri),
Bhagirathi (in Gangotri), Mandakini (in Kedarnath) and Alaknanda (in
Badrinath).
Sri Badrinath Dham
Badrinath, the seat of the god Vishnu in his aspect of Badrinarayan, is
the most important of the four sites in India's Char Dham pilgrimage.
Situtaed in the hills of Himalaya, at the height of 10,248 feet above sea
level. The route to Badrinath is one of the most arduous one due to the
lofty hilly terrain, curves and cliffs amidst the most scenically
beautiful place on the earth.......More
Sri Kedarnath Dham
Kedarnath is amongst the holiest pilgrimages for the devout Hindu,located
in the Uttaranchal state of India. Kedarnath, where a form of the Lord
Shiva is venerated as one of the twelve jyotirling (linga of light), is
one of the four sites in India's pilgrimage Char Dham. The most remote of
the four Char Dham sites, Kedarnath is located in the Himalayas, about
3584m above sea level near the head of river Mandakini, and is flanked by
breathtaking snow-capped peaks.......More
Yamunotri Pilgrimage
Yamunotri, the source of the Yamuna River and the seat of the goddess
Yamuna, is one of the four sites in India's Char Dham pilgrimage. The
temple of Yamunotri falls on the left bank and was originally constructed
by Maharaj Pratap Shah of Tehri Garhwal. The shrine of Yamunotri is one of
the "four dhams" of Uttaranchal Yamunotri temple is Situated in the
direction opposite to Gangotri and the road bifurcates and goes to
Yamunotri from Dharasu, a place between Rishikesh - Uttarkashi. Another 55
km away is Barkot, affording a fabulous view of the Banderpunch Range.
Barkot is also approachable by road directly from all the major cities in

Gangotri Pilgrimage
Gangotri, (Ganga' + ’Uttari’ which means descended) the picturesque
pilgrimage in the hinterlands of the Himalayas is the most sacred spot
where Ganga , the stream of life, touched earth for the first time.
Situated at 99 km from Uttrarkashi, at height of 3140 meters.A shrine
dedicated to the Goddess was built some 250 years ago by Amar Bahadur
Thapa, the Gorkha Commander.......More
