India's first and finest park spread over 520 sq. kms. along the banks of the Ramganga river, just 300 kms. northeast of Delhi in the foothills of the Himalayas is the Corbett National Park.
110 Spices of trees, 51 species of shrubs and over 33 species of bamboo are found here. There are three distinct seasons in Corbett, Cold Nov. to feb., Hot- March to June, Rainy- July to Oct. Over 50 mammal, 580bird and 25 reptile species have been listed in the Corbett. Also astounding is the insect life here. Corbett is a known haven for tigers, largely owing to the success of WWF funded project-tiger that was launched on 1st April 1973. Other animals which add to its attraction are : Leopard, Leopard cat, Jungle cat, Fishing cat, Himalayan black Bear, Dhole, Yellow-Throated Morten, Elephant, Porcupine, Chital, Barking deer etc. Some of the birds commonly seen here are osprey, crested serpent Eagle, Blackwinged kite, Shikra, Pallas's fishing eagle, spotted eagle, Minivets, shrikes, Babblers etc.
The Gharials, descendants of the prehistoric reptilies, have made the park their home. The Indian python, viper, cobra, krait and king cobra, the largest of the poisonous snakes, also inhabit Corbett,as monitors and other lesser lizards.

Day 01 : Delhi - Corbett National Park
Drive from Delhi-Corbet National Park (275-kms / 6 hr.) early in the morning. Arrival at the camp site by noon. After having lunch, drive onward for Dhangarhi gate for entry to Dhikala Tourism zone. Take a visit to the Interpretation Centre. Enjoy a Jeep safari through the dense jungles of Jim Corbet Park. The Safari trip also take you to the lower jungle track along the Ramganga river, accompanied by an expert guide. Cross the river at Gethia Rao bridge for the Kanda Range, where Jim Corbett shot the famous Kanda man-eater. Arrive at the main tourist complex, Dhikala to check in. Relax a while or indulge in some wildlife photography. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 02 : Corbet National Park
Take up a early morning Elephant safari through the open Chaurs (grasslands) and dense forests by an unconventional route. Elephant safari is the best option for wildlife viewing in the Corbet National Park. Return back to the complex for breakfast and then again drive by jeep to the scenic lake area to catch the sight of Marsh crocodile basking in the sun. Visit the Jhirnajhali area for viewing the famous Gharial - the fish eating crocodile. Return for lunch and some rest or opt for spending the afternoon on a watchtower overlooking a water hole. Jeep safari on a track along the periphery of the core area. Take this exciting drive through the unforgettable and breathtaking Khinanauli range to catch some best wildlife sights and Tigers in Jim Corbet Park. Return to the to tourist complex in the evening. Watch film shows on wildlife. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 03 : Corbet National Park
Drive back to the campsite after breakfast. Have lunch after arriving at the camp. Take an afternoon jeep safari to Bijrani for tiger tracking. Overnight stay in the resort.
Day 04 : Corbett National Park - Delhi - Agra - Nainital - Onward Destination
Drive towards Bhuvankhal early in the morning to witness the beautiful sunrise and the snow clad peaks of the central Himalayas. Return back to the campsite for lunch. Drive to onward destination or towards Lal Kuan, Nanital (80-kms / 2 hr.) station to connect overnight train to Agra.
Elephant Safari at Corbett National Park

Day 01 : Delhi - Corbett National Park
Depart early from New Delhi to arrive for lunch at the wildlife resort. Take a nature walk accompanied by a naturalist, along the Kosi River. This area is a bird watcher's paradise. In the evening watch a slide show on the flora & fauna present in the Corbett area.
Day 02 : Corbett National Park
Jeep Safari in Corbett National Park for tiger tracking. Drive along the Ramganga, to look for some fish-eating Gharial and Marsh Crocodiles. If you are lucky enough, you will possibly see the some species of Kingfishers, Pallas & Himalayan Greyheaded Fishing Eagles, Osprey, Crested Serpent Eagle and of course the Mammalia. Later on arrive at Dhikala, where the natural setting will take your breath away. Have lunch and rest for while, enjoying the panoramic view of the grassland area and its abundant wildlife. The elephant ride from Dhikala provides the opportunity get a close view of the Himalayan wildlife. Jeep ride back to the lodge for overnight stay.
Day 03 : Corbett National Park
Early morning Jeep Safari in the Ghairal area and into the awesome wilderness of the Corbett national park. Arrive at the wildlife resort. Drive in a jeep to get to the start-off point of the Elephant safari. Enroute visit Kanda situated at an elevation of 1,020m, where Jim Corbett shot the Kanda Man-eater. After having a picnic lunch, start the Elephant Safari in the Himalayan foothills. Arrive, after enjoying the leisure ride, at the forest rest house, built in British bungalow style for overnight stay in the wilderness.
Day 04 : Corbett National Park
Start a full day wildlife expedition on an Elephant back, stopping enroute at a picturesque spot for breakfast. Stop by again for rest at a forest rest house and letting the elephant also some break as well as bath in the stream. After rest, start the Elephant safari for the Sonanadi sanctuary, going along the Rocky Plain river, the forested areas and the scenery is spectacular over here. Arrive at the Halduparao Forest Rest House, built in 1892 it was broken down by the Wild Elephants and abandoned. The Sonanadi Sanctuary was included in the Corbett Tiger Reserve and this Forest Rest House was restored, a few years ago. After a hot water bucket wash, get together at a campfire. Overnight stay at the forest rest house.
Day 05 : Corbett National Park
Wildlife enthusiasts can also choose option of either going for an elephant ride or Jeep Safari or go for a forest trail with an armed guard in the Sonanadi Sanctuary area, for wildlife viewing. After having breakfast, depart by Jeep with packed lunch via Sendhikhal - Saneh - Morghatti - Kalagarh - Jhirna - Dhela - Ramnagar, reaching the resort by late evening.
Day 06 : Corbett National Park - Delhi - Onward Destination
After breakfast depart for the onward journey from the Corbett national park.
